From One Hive to a Hill Full of Buzz
Mêl-y-Mynydd began with a single little colony and a big dream: to share joyful, honest honey straight from our hillside hives. In just weeks, five frames turned into a thriving, buzzing apiary — and a tradition our whole family now tends together.
Our bees explore the flowers of Llanarthney — clover, phacelia, yarrow, marjoram — bringing back nectar that’s gently gathered and bottled raw, just as nature intended.
We do everything with care, love, and a bit of mischief. (And yes — the bees seem to approve.)

Our Buzzing Family
Our bees are part of the family — and they get treated that way.
We’ve planted a patchwork of blooms to keep them happy: clover, cornflower, phacelia, borage, yarrow and more. Our hives are checked weekly, and our queens are carefully chosen from kind, strong UK stock (with plans to raise our own Welsh royalty soon).
And if you’re ever lucky enough to visit on a warm day, you might just hear the hill humming.
We’ve even added a gentle, glinting spinner in the meadow to help protect our flowers from browsing deer — another little detail that helps our bees thrive.
"We care for the bees — and they care for us."
